A Character Examination of Jay Berry in THE SUMMERTIME of the Monkeys by Wilson Rawls

The novel The Summer time of the Monkeys compiled by Wilson Rawls presented me to a persona who passed from as an egocentric poor boy to a generous and loving one. He originates from an extremely poor family group that lived in northern Oklahoma on a farm known as Cherokee land since it was in the center of the Cherokee Country. The boy is named Jay Berry and he dreamed only about obtaining a pony and a .22. He includes a sister that was born with a crippled leg, when he collects the amount of money to get the pony and the gun he includes a sudden change of head and feelings and decides to facilitates his sister giving up his cash to his dad and mom to pay for an procedure to repair his sisters leg. He approved from being an egocentric boy to a generous and loving boy.

Throughout the novel the reader should be able to observe how Jay Berry starts to improve and become an improved person. A common idea in his mind was Ive been seeking a pony and a .22 since the day I was created. Every boy in the hills includes a pony and a gun, but me. But things such as that cost so much cash, it doesnt appear to be Ill ever keep these things. (20.) Ever since his grandpa informed him that the twenty-nine monkeys he within the bottoms had been from a circus and there is a major reward for them, he only considered catching them, collecting the amount of money, and buying his pony and .22. It really is apparent to the reader that Jay Berry can only just think about selfish, superficial
