The Dutch: Divided and Deeply Indebted
The putting your signature on of the Serenity of Westphalia in 1648 ended the Thirty Years' War and brought about the formation of the self-employed Dutch Republic, a cabale of the seven provinces from the Netherlands. Throughout the mid seventeenth century, the Dutch became the richest and most active trading and shipbuilding people in The european union. By ruling most trading routes in the Baltic and Atlantic Oceans, the Dutch Republic received recognition because an influential country. This thriving economy would eventually encounter challenges throughout the late 17th century that could cost the Dutch all their monopoly over trade routes and impact amongst various other European power. The fall of the Dutch Republic could be attributed to several foreign clashes, internal distrust and disunity in the provinces, and the decrease of trade prominence and economical prosperity. The rapid success of Dutch trading undertakings captured the interest of other European nations who were willing to destroy the Republic's reliability through many military challenges. Leading the fees was Britain, who clearly demonstrated the resentment through the entire Anglo-Dutch battles. Between 1652 and 1674, there were 2, 000-2, seven hundred Dutch delivers seized by the English, in least several times the amount seized by Dutch (Doc 3). It goes to show the intensity which the Dutch were being ripped down using their powerful position. France joined up with the harm on the republic by allying with England. Signed in 1670, the Treaty of Dover obviously lays the actual goal of the foreign powers: " Each one of the allied sovereign coins will the collectively declare battle with the Nederlander RepublicвЂќ (Doc 6). This official record reflects the actions and feelings in the neighboring countries accurately. The Dutch weren't in the dark about the programs of different nations.
