Published in 1850, The Scarlet Letter is considered Nathaniel Hawthorne's most famous work, and the first quintessentially American novel in style, topic, and terminology. Nathaniel Hawthorne, a seriously acclaimed American writer from the nineteenth century, was born in Salem, Ma in 1804. The novelist's book, The Scarlet Notice, is said to be his most commendable work, and universally deemed a fictional classic, regarding sin and its particular inherent consequences. Some think Hawthorne's function related to his own personal impression of disgrace regarding his ancestors' persecuting roles inside the seventeenth 100 years Salem Witch Trials, fantastic views regarding a female's role in society (Baym 49-70; Answers Corp., " DuyckinckвЂќ).
