Service Learning Reflection
Nov 4th, 2014
I chose to complete my personal service learning hours on the Quantum House. It is an firm located on 45th street in back of St . Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL. The Quantum House is known as a supportive home where households can stay while a part of their is being remedied nearby. The Quantum Residence offers almost all meals, casing, and entertainment during the complete stay. The families are asked to pay thirty-five dollars each day, but it is never forced in the event the family is unable to pay. At the center they have a playroom, a family laundry room, twice kitchen, eating area, living room, a back patio, a back garden and an outside playground. Every room is definitely furnished just like a resort is with a private bathroom in each. They may be expanding to add more bedrooms and a more substantial kitchen and dining, but also for now they are able to accommodate eight families. During my service there were nine family members staying at your house. All toiletries and kitchen supplies can be found, each place is marked by diverse names, including вЂHibiscus' and corresponds with the own kitchen cabinets for their personal kitchen/pantry products, and their personal shelf tagged in the refrigerator. All of their meals they provide are either given by restaurants or of individuals with the food prep or by their own home and generated within the Portion House to serve to the families staying. While I was doing my service, they were having leftovers from the prior night (turkey, sweet potato mash, pig with barbequed pineapple, and rice with red beans) donated from CafГ© Boulud.
The Segment House is an amazing business. The feeling inside home was so nice and pleasant. The family members staying there have been very nice and it felt as if we were holding a big friends and family because they all have an identical situation.
